this is Roman he is my hero. he is my son and he was born on new years eve 3 mo early at 1.14lbs he was the size of an ave. shoe. i was very ill during my pregnancy and was hospitalized nov. and dec. my blood pressure got so bad that the dr.s ordered that i couldnt open the curtains or have any visitors including my daughter even over christmas everything shot my blood pressures way up. anyhow Roman had achieved the impossible too many times to count. we did not know this but he was born with down syndrome and before we could digest that on top of his extreme prematurity a symptom of his d.s was a hole in the center of his heart so big that it made all 4 of his chambers 1 and he needed open heart surgery but he was too little to make it through. eventually he had his first heart surgery at 2.9lbs. and has had 3 more since he also is on a ventilator to breathe with a tracheostemy and a feeding tube. he has sustained 7 major surgeries and almost eight months in the intensive care uint, never been home yet. needless to say this has completly changed our "normal" life. i lived in a ronald mcdonald house for the first 6 mo away from my family, we visited on weekends. i forgot to mention when Roman needed to be born we were rushed to another city 100 mi. away for the specialists. i now am at home at night and commute every morning and our cars engine is knocking and i have broke down on the interstate 3 times. murphys law also dictates that now is the time everyrhing breaks, oven,washer,a/c. not to mention gas prices. for awhile in the begning i maintained ok but now i just cant its the 19th and i still havent paid my mortgage. Roman is supposed to come home in a few weeks and theres alot of expenses i didnt see coming ie: rewiring home 4 equiptment, special needs stroller ans carseat that can hold all his equipt. fire extingushers, land line phone for nurses.... just alot i am very worried that he will be able to come home and i wont be able to get this stuff done. when i am working i make enough money to make it so that i cant qualify for any state help. i normally have a really hard time asking for anything but today i humble myself and ask if theres anything you can do to help us financially, god bless you. p.s.
